Kate and Zach – a Cambridge Mill Celebration

Our journey with Kate and Zach began at a Wedding Ring expo in the fall of 2017 when Kate and her aunt visited our booth. We like them both, so I was thrilled to have the chance to talk to Kate again and meet Zach. There was so much about their wedding to look forward to – particularly our first chance to shoot at the Cambridge Mill, and an engagement session at Elora Gorge Conservation Area.

Kate and Zach are seriously fun-loving and goofy. Their engagement session took place not long before dusk, which presented interesting challenges. But they didn’t let the dwindling light stop them from mugging for the camera or trying to make each other laugh.

Wedding Day – August 18, 2018

Kate and her crew got their hair and makeup done at UBU Salon while Zach and his groomsmen suited up at the Hilton Garden Inn. A limo shuttled both groups to the Cambridge Mill – separately, no first look for these two!

Here, we see Kate convening the ladies for a quick pep talk before the ceremony.

The Ceremony in the Pavilion

The Pavilion is an outstanding ceremony venue, particularly on a summer afternoon. The soaring windows and dark beams create an awe-inspiring scene. To top it off, it overlooks the Grand River. It doesn’t take a sophisticated sales pitch to convince brides and grooms that this is a memorable spot to  say their vows.

Mill Race Park

Adjacent to the Cambridge Mill is Mill Race Park, featuring a stone wall at the Grand River in addition to a sort of stadium-seating arrangement that’s perfect for showing off the entire wedding party. Kate and Zach were fortunate enough to have a bright day, so we were able to get all the formal photos taken there.
