My wife, Beth, and I have been married for four years. We each have two children, all of whom are in their twenties. Beth is second shooter at the majority of my weddings.

Rob Cooper — Burlington, Ontario

Wedding and Portrait Photographer

As long as I can remember, I’ve seen the world through an imaginary rectangle hovering in front of my eyes. When photography gets in your blood you see the world differently. You see stories waiting to be told. I want to share that enthusiasm with you for your engagement and wedding photography.

Being chosen to photograph someone’s most momentous day is an honour. I’ve never taken that for granted or looked at it as a business transaction. You are going to spend more time with your photographer than with anyone else on your wedding day, so I do everything I can to build a relationship with you prior to your big day. That way you are feeling relaxed and natural from the first photograph to the last.

To me, the photograph is not the end but the means to an end. The story is the thing.

Photography is humanity’s way of freezing meaningful moments, to be relived at will. A well-timed image can trigger a flood of memories and cause the retelling of a story, whether it’s a familiar one or one you thought was lost. Your photographs are the only lasting reminders of your wedding day, and they can’t be recreated. This is why it’s so important to choose a photographer who takes the time to understand your vision.

Why choose Rob Cooper Photography?

From the advent of the smartphone, photographs have become ubiquitous. Where taking a photo was once something you thought about and planned – remember 12-exposure rolls of film? – photography in 2019 is second nature to us, a reflex, nearly an afterthought. Go to a museum, a lake, or a concert and you’ll notice people seeing the entire event through their smartphones. People crave memory-making.

I started Rob Cooper Photography with the express idea of helping people communicate via photographs. Through documentary wedding images, I help you tell your story.
